Classic & Contemporary Scene Study
$660 For the Semester
Thursdays Starting September 23
This session is an opportunity for the committed performer to flex their creative muscles and work on both comedy and drama with like-minded peers through scene study. Using robust material from both the classic and contemporary cannon, young actors develop a rigorous and rewarding way of working to find the emotional truth of their characters and connect it back to their personal voice. Through working on complex pieces of both heightened and modern language, they are empowered to make strong and specific choices, develop back stories and apply vocal/physical techniques they learn.
The class culminates in a showcase of their comedic and dramatic scenes.
Selected playwrights include: Julia Cho, Sarah Ruhl, Tom Stoppard, Sam Shepherd and John Patrick Shanley.
Payment plans are available at checkout.
Need-based scholarships are available to BIPOC students and those from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the community. Contact us to learn more.
