Let us create a spectacular Birthday Party for you!

Child’s Play NY creates fully customized birthday parties that put your child’s passions center stage.

After a personal consultation, our professional actor-educators design a high-energy celebration filled with theater games tailored to your child’s theme and interests.

Guests embark on imaginative adventures led by expert teachers who know how to spark joy, creativity, and confidence.

The result is a personal and unforgettable celebration that centers the birthday kid and their friends!

Parties are 75 minutes and start at $575 for up to 15 kids. The price scales as follows:

  • Up to 15 kids: $575
  • 16-20 kids: $650
  • 21-25 kids: $725

Due to the nature of our events, we cannot accommodate parties for more than 25 kids.

Child’s Play NY parties occur in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Our parties take place in your home, common room, favorite spot in the park or other space that you provide.

If you’re hosting an outdoor party, we can hold a rain date for you when we initially confirm your party. As we get closer, we can rebook for the rain date within 24 hours if the weather looks questionable.

Child’s Play NY parties are led by professional actors. These teaching artists lead our after school classes and camps. They know how to balance structured theater games and imaginative play with large groups, and keep the energy celebratory.

We staff all parties with a minimum of 2 teachers, and add more depending on your headcount. You don’t need to know an exact headcount in advance – that number is due the Monday before the party so we can staff accordingly!

Child’s Play NY parties are tailor-made, joyful celebrations! The opposite of a cookie-cutter party, our events bring characters and themes your child loves to life through imaginative games and play!

We love discovering what your child loves most and helping design a party theme that will suit them best!

You can tell us theme ideas you are thinking of, along with other things you’d like to share about your child: favorite books, films, songs and characters will help us plan a fully custom event full of things they love!

We create parties for kids ages 3-11.

Child’s Play NY teachers are at your party for 75 minutes. We greet the guests, lead a craft (that you provide), and then jump into an hour of theater games based on your theme.

Here is a sample schedule for a two hour party:

  • 15 mins – Guests arrive and do a small craft.
  • 1 hour – Child’s Play NY teachers inspire and delight with games and activities that make the party guests and the birthday kid super happy and engaged.
  • 45 mins – You do food and cake and guests say good-bye!

Our theater games are extremely fun, and also support child development. Kids get playful practice in turn taking, active listening and working memory (executive function skills).

This is the same lauded curricula that we use with our many partner schools, tailor-made for your child’s celebration.

The base party fee ($575) includes:

  • one 30 minute set up call with our Executive Director, Jocelyn Greene
  • a 75 minute party with 2 teaching artists leading customized games and activities for up to 15 children.

If you have 16-20 kids, there are three teachers and the fee is $650.

If you have 21-25 kids, there are four teachers and the fee is $725.

Our administrative team supports over email with suggestions for crafts at the top of the party, advice on party timing and logistics, language for your invitation, and other questions that arise.

We advise families to provide simple craft supplies, related to their theme, for the first 15 minutes of the party. We will make suggestions based on what we know works well for your child’s age and interest. This activity helps grounds kids as they arrive.

The craft is a buffer time for guests to arrive and get excited about the theme. We also are able to use these crafts as props during our playing. Craft examples include:

  • Superhero Capes
  • Decorating Shields
  • DIY Crowns
  • Magic Wands

We do not need any props or costumes to execute our dramatic play and theater games portion of the party. Our motto at Child’s Play NY is “acting on imagination,” and we tap into children’s innate ability to make believe.

No! We are passionate about tapping into kids imagination and play and do not rely on toys, props or costumes to make believe.

Depending on your party theme, we can make suggestions for simple costumes you provide for the kids. We can also help you include language in your invitation if you’d like kids to come in costume or dress-up!

Yes. Siblings of the party guests, as well as the birthday kid, count towards the headcount unless they will be engaged in a separate activity.

Babies and toddlers (up to 3 year olds) will not count, as our work is not developmentally appropriate for their participation.

It is important we can get an accurate headcount the Monday before the party to maintain proper ratios and celebrate your child the best we can!

The first step is to fill out a party request form. Include where the party will be held, and your child’s interests and themes they may be interested in!
If we have availability on the date, we will be in touch over email to set up a phone call with you and our Executive Director, Jocelyn Greene. In this call, you’ll discuss the logistics of the day and narrow in on a theme.
Once you confirm during this call or over email that you would like to move forward, we hold your date, send you a deposit invoice and invite you to a calendar for the event. We’ll send links for the craft suggestions we spoke about.
Once you pay the deposit, your party is locked in and we staff the event. In order to guarantee staffing, we must have a party deposit paid at least 15 days before the party.
The Monday before the party, we confirm the headcount with you and send you the final details including teacher information and an invoice for the balance. The balance will be due the day before the party.
